wild sunflower

Of the many wild flowers blooming this time of the year, this is one of my favorites. Here in West Alabama, wild "Sunflowers" dot country roads and seem to thrive in hot dry weather and poor soil. We have several in our yard and enjoy their blooms both Spring and again in Fall.
