mail box

I know city folks can have a mailbox but there's just something special about a country mailbox like this. Growing up, our mailbox was not in front of our house but rather on a dirt road about 100 yards away. I always looked forward to that daily trip and the surprises it might bring. A new Sears 'wish book' or maybe a J.C Whitney catalog - or maybe just the Piggly Wiggly sale paper - it didn't really matter, just as long as we got mail. And, oh what a big disappointment when we didn't.
